Mike d’Abo first came to fame in 1966 replacing Paul Jones as lead singer with MANFRED MANN. His voice was featured on 7 consecutive top 10 hits, including ‘Just Like A Woman’, ‘Semi-Detached Suburban Mr. James’, ‘Fox On The Run’, ‘Ha! Ha! Said The Clown’, and the memorable No 1 hit, ‘The Mighty Quinn’. As a songwriter, he wrote two of the 60s most enduring classics - ‘Handbags & Gladrags’ (heard recently as the theme tune to ‘ The Office ‘) and ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’, which remain as popular today, if not more so, than in their heyday. In the 70s, he made several solo albums, undertook some acting roles, and wrote a string of catchy TV jingles, including ‘A Finger Of Fudge’.
