Milton Nascimento is one of the iconic singer-songwriters of Brazil. This collaboration with the Jobim Trio, which includes Paulo and Daniel Jobim who are son and grandson of the great Antonio Carlos Jobim, takes Nascimento back to his roots, creating a direct connection with the first heart beats of bossa nova. In a semi-acoustic setting they play material from their new Blue Note release Novas Bossas, which explores the source of this rich musical history and celebrates the genre’s 50th anniversary. The scene is set by the intimate piano and guitar duo of two bright new US jazz stars. The lyrical interplay between Eigsti and long-time friend and guitar virtuoso, Lage is astounding.
