T1925786411Since moving to Shropshire over 30 years ago, Bob Wysome has been a leading figure in the musical life of the county and beyond. This event celebrates this contribution with a programme of largely English music including Sir Edward Elgar's 'Enigma' Variations, aptly sub-titled 'To my friends pictured within'. Vaughan Williams was influenced by Elgar and his Sea Symphony, written almost exactly 100 years ago, became a high point of the English choral tradition and mirrored his admiration for Parry, whose noble Blest Pair of Sirens opens the programme.
