Songs and Refrains
Written especially for two members of the NCWO, as well as the opportunity to hear McNeff's sparkling Clarinet Concerto, a previous NCWO commission. The serenity of Goto's reworking of Beethoven's famous Moonlight Sonata provides a contrast to Torke's portrait of a metropolitan hub; whilst Waespi and Basford draw on traditional folk music in their evocations of the British Isles.
