Matthew Herbert's 20 Pianos - T0818416615

World Premiere. 20 Pianos tells the story of pianos from around the world and closer to home, drawing on the rich histories of individual instruments to evoke the very personal, domestic and public resonances of music making. Amplified sampled piano tones blend timbres, tunings and histories as they all meet in virtual piano technological wizardry. A unique figure in modern music and experimenter with the avant-garde and the familiar, Matthew Herbert is known for working with raw sound, turning ordinary or so called found sound in to stunning electronic music. He has produced and worked with acts as diverse as Bj?rk and Dizzee Rascal. Sarah Nicolls is a UK-based experimental pianist, at the forefront of innovations in piano performance. Sam Beste, in demand as a pianist since his teens, has worked extensively with Matthew Herbert co-writing, recording and releasing music on Accidental Records.
