Orla's voice has been described as possessing a distinctive, rich sound with a deep and soulful timbre; and often comparisons are made with great jazz vocalists Nina Simone, Cleo Laine, and Diana Krall. Up-and-coming London-based Irish vocalist Orla Murphy sings a variety of jazz standards and songs of her favourite singer-songwriters; featured on her critically acclaimed debut album Wishful Thinking (2007). For this performance she is joined by a special guest from Italy, one of the finest jazz pianists in Europe, Giovanni Mazzarino.
