Mose Fan Fan & Bayeke Rumba OK - T01518467065When slavery brought Africa to Cuba, traditional rhythms fused with Latin melodies. From this chance confluence came son, danzon, cha-cha-cha and mambo. In a twist of fate Africans re-imported these styles during the 50s and 60s, and Congolese rumba and soukous were born. In a unique double-header Brighton Festival traces this Afro-Latin circle of influence from the dancehalls of Havana to the streets of Kinshasa. | |
