Robin Holcomb and Jeb Loy Nichols

Robin Holcomb and Jeb Loy NicholsT0
As a teenage record-buyer in Missouri, Jeb never could pick a favorite between Al Green, Merle Haggard or Jimmy Cliff. As a grown-up singer-songwriter, he doesn't have to. His music is neither neo nor retro, showing that the divide separating gospel, bluegrass, reggae and R&B is paper thin. A singer of the most soulful persuasion, his sweet, crooning vocal and reflective songs sit on "shuffling blue moods and gently aching, mellifluous grooves", Time Out. Robin Holcomb's songs are catchy without being pop, her music individual, spare but beautiful. She triumphs as "a wordsmith riveted by life's private revelations, her jazz-inflected singing as knowing and supple as her lyrics", Rolling Stone.
