Ronan Keating - Part II archiveRonan Patrick John Keating was born in Dublin in 1977, and he showed musical flair from an early age. It wasn't until 1993 however that Ronan's first step on the path to worldwide fame was taken, when five like-minded boys from Dublin turned up at an audition for what was heralded as "Ireland's answer to Take That". Little did Ronan, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy know that they were about to become one of the biggest boybands ever. Six years down the line, they have achieved sixteen Top 3 singles (including six No 1s), four No 1 albums (selling more than 12 million copies worldwide), dozens of sell out UK tours and millions of fans across the globe. Boyzone are undoubtedly Ireland's most successful pop export of all time and have paved the way for other Irish acts such as Westlife (co-managed by Ronan and Boyzone manager Louis Walsh), The Corrs and B*Witched. In the summer of 1999 Ronan released his first solo single, "When You Say Nothing At All", taken from the Brit Award winning "Notting Hill" film soundtrack. The single went straight to No 1 and sold over 500,000 copies. Ronan Keating - Part II website.
