Details

Rubber Johnny archiveSouth East London band Rubber Johnny originally formed to fill a gap between the punk and reggae bands performing at the 1978 Rock against Racism concerts at the Albany, Deptford, but this interval trio became so popular that at the end of the series of RAR concerts they were offered a residency at the Deptford Arms. In the years that followed they played the Marquee, The Nashville Rooms, The Rock Garden and The 100 Club, but in 1983 the band retired.
