School Prom archiveSchools and youth orchestras from Newcastle upon Tyne and South Tyneside are joining forces to take part in the Daft as a Brush Schools Prom at 2.00 p.m. on Sunday 15 October 2017 at the City Hall, Newcastle. The response from schools has been enthusiastic and there will be a number of choirs from Newcastle and South Tyneside with two bands, one from Newcastle and one from South Tyneside. Ernest Young is the musical director and he will be joined by Kathryn Harries, Soprano and Director of the National Opera Studio. In addition, Bradley Creswick, the ever-popular leader of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, has agreed to play for the children and young people. Compered by Carol Malia of the BBC the afternoon will be one that both children and parents will remember for ever.
