The winter floods, which wrought such havoc and misery on the Somerset Levels, now seem almost a distant memory to most of us, but not, of course, to the people who were, and still are, directly affected. This is why SING FOR SOMERSET, a fundraising choir concert will bring a welcome boost to the on-going relief effort for the families who have often still not returned to anything like the normal life they used to know. From popular musical numbers to specially written traditional songs about Somerset and its people, to the rousing melodies of the Welsh Valleys, these choirs represent the power and beauty of communal endeavour ? reflecting and celebrating the enormous collective effort that was mobilised by volunteers from near and far when the floods hit.
