Stackridge archiveThe first ever band to play at the initial Glastonbury Festival in 1971, this West Country band re-formed in 1998. Their music is as eclectic as ever, from jazz cafe, via rock and roll, to jigs and reels, with a hefty leavening of skilful parody. Fresh from Glastonbury with four of the original band - Andy Davis, James Warren, "Mutter" Slater and Jim "Crun" Walter, augmented by the talents of Rachel Hall, Eddie John, Sarah Mitchell and Glenn Tommey, Stackridge remain an exciting and inspiring mix of the sublime, embracing influences as diverse as The Beatles, Music Hall, Delius, Frank Zappa, The Bonzos, Elgar, Pink Floyd , Noel Coward and the classic three minute Pop Song.
