Stackridge - A Victory for Common Sense archiveThe first ever band to play at the initial Glastonbury Festival in 1971, this West Country band re-formed in 1998. Their music is as eclectic as ever, from jazz cafe, via rock and roll, to jigs and reels, with a hefty leavening of skilful parody. Relaunched, Rejuvenated, Indefinable. Far too many artists & bands make the claim they are 'indefinable'. Stackridge, however, are the epitome of such a term. Now with four of the original band back in harness Stackridge remain an exciting and inspiring mix of the sublime, the ridiculous & the simply unexpected. Superb musicianship, consummately performed with an ease, grace & humour that is quite astonishing. With appearances at major festivals during the Summer, a new album recorded, and a constant flow of fresh material from the prolific writers in the band, now more than ever is the time for the uninitiated to take their first steps to discovering this wonderful West Country band.
