This innovative and exuberant dance band is one of the finest exponents of Ghanaian Highlife currently on the UK circuit. Highlife is based on palm wine music, a traditional form of music played on acoustic and now electric guitar, which is reinforced by West Indian calypso. The Bessa Band add their own brand of funky jazzy undertones, with a pinch of soul too.
