For nearly 500 years it was the lute, not the bagpipe or fiddle, that was the most popular instrument in Scotland, and many of today's best-known traditional Scots tunes were first notated in lute manuscripts. Rob MacKillop, who has made a name for himself as a leading interpreter of Scottish early and traditional music for lute, brings many of these tunes together in a haunting celebration of Scotland's musical heritage.
