Led by composer and artist Jamie McDermott, The Irrepressibles are a 10-piece ‘performance orchestra’ fusing classical orchestrations with pop melodies and soaring vocals. Using conceptual sets and a team of artists from dance, avant-garde costume and make-up, the collective bring McDermott’s songs to life, creating an extraordinary live spectacle. A classically trained singer, Gabby Young’s commanding stage presence has earned her a fan base spanning the worlds of folk to antifolk, jazz to burlesque, and led to performances at major festivals. The concert is part of Disruption.
