Gershwin provides the link between the two halves this annual joint concert featuring North Cheshire Wind Orchestra, big band Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats. His 'jazz soul' is exposed in a rarely performed big band version of music from his opera Porgy and Bess by Bill Pots and Grantham's Fantasy Variations are based on his second piano prelude. NCWO are delighted to present two World Premières in this concert - Adam Gorb's saxophone concerto written for the soloist Tim Watson, and our own commission from the highly regarded young composer Emily Howard
