Tall Stories takes us from the holds of ships to arrival on Ellis Island; through settlement and early sweatshop employment to the heights of the Manhattan skyscrapers they built; through the sunless anonymity of the metropolis to the underworld of poverty and lost identity; from the search for community to the individual spirit of every survivor.
