The Thalia Ensemble was formed in 2000 by three of the North West’s most travelled chamber musicians. John Gough is tutor in piano at The Royal Northern College of Music and has performed as a soloist with many of the world’s leading symphony orchestras. Karen Slack is the former principal clarinet with The Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra while Ian Anstee made his name performing with the Tuba Quartet Tubalate. The ensemble performs works by Beethoven, Bruch and Kreutzer as a trio interspersed with solo works by Vaughan Williams, Poulenc and Chopin.
