The Wonderful Music of Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw archiveBenny Goodman & Artie Shaw were ground breaking clarinet playing American band leaders, fronting the most popular music groups in the 1930's. They catapulted jazz into new realms with what became Swing music. Their legendary performances of Sing Sing Sing, Stompin' at The Savoy & Begin the Beguine, became the era's defining recordings. Goodman's 1938 concert at Carnegie Hall in NYC is described as "jazz's 'coming out' party to the world of 'respectable' music."
