Voted 'Best Group' at the 2015 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and nominated again this year, The Young'uns have fast become one of the foremost groups on the UK folk scene. The Ballad of Johnny Longstaff follows the story of one man who witnesses some of the most momentous events of the 1930s, from begging on the streets in the North of England to fighting against fascism in the Spanish Civil War. With their trademark harmony, honesty and humour, three-time BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winners The Young'uns bring together 16 specially composed songs, spoken word, striking imagery and the real recorded voice of Johnny Longstaff himself to tell the story of a working class hero with modern relevance.
