Thomas Lang archiveAs a child Liverpool born vocalist and song writer Thomas Lang (then Tom Jones) honed his young vocal talent through singing torch songs by artists such as Billie Holiday and Nina Simone in the front room of his family home in Toxteth. Tonight he revisits many of these classic songs in a performance which will feature special guest contributions from Connie Lush and Jennifer John. Thomas Lang shot to critical and commercial acclaim in the mid-eighties following a signing to CBS in 1986 and the production of his first album ?Scallywag Jazz' featuring perhaps his most popular song ?Happy Man'. Following a tour with Suzanne Vega he and his band toured Japan and earned a prestigious residency at Ronnie Scotts. Thomas Lang is a key figure in the Liverpool music scene continuing to perform, record and to exert his very unique voice and style in the interpretation of his own songs and those of others.
