Don't miss our annual big evening out at Ronnie Scott's when we light up with a contrasting double bill from some of Europe's finest young jazz performers. First, Malcolm Earle-Smith and our Jazz Ensemble explore the spirit of the blues in a variety of blues-based arrangements from the 1930s to 1960s and beyond, including music by Count Basie, Charles Mingus, Thelonius Monk, Horace Silver and Slide Hampton. Then Mark Lockheart and our Contemporary Jazz Ensemble explore the sounds of Art Pepper + Eleven, the iconic 1960 album that brought together some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century to perform big band arrangements of modern classics by the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Gerry Mulligan and Miles Davis.
