Composer and jazz saxophonist James Russell continues to pursue his ambition of bringing new audiences to jazz, by combining his music with other disciplines. Following the success of his Romeo and Juliet jazz suite, he has combined a new jazz score with the full script of Dylan Thomas' classic play. Presented in a 1950s BBC style, with dinner suites and evening gowns, in a slightly shabby bohemian atmosphere, eight actors, together with a Jazz Quartet present this engaging production, with a score which is haunting, evocative and amusing. Actors and musicians in perfect harmony.
