The orchestra has an internationally renowned reputation and are frequent participants in the distinguished St David's Hall International Concert Series and Welsh Proms in Cardiff each year. It is also one of two national orchestras from Wales featured in the acclaimed 2021 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. Prokofiev's colourful ballet score Cinderella is chock full of witty, vibrant music. By contrast, Beethoven's Symphony No 7 hurtles along with boundless energy. Soloist Peter Donahoe joins the Orchestra for Grieg's evergreen Piano Concerto and Tomas Hanus conducts.
