Ether/Urban Temple - T02036693794

Angika further their impressive collaborative work with composer-duo Midival Punditz (their music featured in the films Monsoon Wedding & Closer) and lighting designer [Aideen Malone] to create Ether, a new 40-minute dance quartet. The original music composition and imaginative lighting design created specifically to compliment Angika’s innovative choreography. In Indian philosophy the Ether or ‘Akasa’ pervades the Universe as the invisible vehicle of life and sound. In this metaphysical piece Angika engage the powerful rhythmic element of Bharatanatyam with lyrical stillness, to connect with the flow of this subtle force. The geometrical abstraction and physical dynamics of their dance will sculpt the space to evoke a sense of the eternal and infinite. Angika will also be performing another new dance piece Urban Temple, 20 minutes, three dancers; original music composition again by the New Delhi based Midival Punditz.
