Curious Encounters/Close Encounters
Candoco Dance Company, the contemporary dance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers presents two unique events in the Lilian Baylis Studio as part of the =dance season, offering audiences a Close Encounter with the company through performances, workshops and conversations. Curious Encounters is an interactive matinee for young people and their families. This is the perfect opportunity to get up close to Candoco's work, learn more about themes that inspire the choreographers and how the work is made. The event will be a fun and relaxed introduction to the company's repertoire including work by choreographers Javier de Frutos and Thomas Hauert, plus a chance to quiz the dancers and Candoco's Co-Artistic Directors. Close Encounters is an opportunity to see Candoco's work in the intimate environment of the Lilian Baylis Studio, and engage in discussion with New Wave Associate Hetain Patel and choreographer Javier de Frutos.
