During September, Chapter will host Dance Roads Open Process (DROP) a major European dance residency and conference bringing together dance artists, leaders and specialists from across the EU to discuss artistic working practices and examine the current provision available within dance networks. The event is just one aspect of a bigger project led by Chapter and Coreo Cymru; Dance Roads Open Progress is the first Welsh led dance project to be funded by the EU Culture Programme and aims to develop and expand the provision currently available to the small-scale contemporary dance sector in Europe. Dance artists from Wales, France, Italy, The Netherlands and Canada will descend on Chapter to a two-week artists residency guided by France internationally acclaimed choreographer Faizal Zeghoudi. The artists selected through the Dance Roads network will work together to develop short work in progress pieces presented during the conference to the delegates and other invited guests. These works will later be developed and presented in Chapter in June 2014 as part of the Dance Roads tour.
