Akademi has been presenting Daredevas, a showcase for up and coming dancers around London and the United Kingdom. Daredevas features the brightest young talents in contemporary Indian dance. British based with International roots, these artists provide a fresh take on traditional Indian dance styles, showing a mixture of bold and adventurous choreographies. The future of Indian dance is now: Daredevas, a platform for young South Asian dancers based in the UK, is back at Watermans for the second year running. Featuring four up-and-coming artists performing in five different dance styles, Daredevas is an exciting taster of what's to come in classical and contemporary Indian dance. Each performer is free to present one traditional or one innovative piece, showcasing their skills, influences and talent.
