LOVETRAIN2020 - T734504475LOVETRAIN2020 will call upon the iconic music of the 80s British duo Tears for Fears (Mad World, Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule The World, Change, Sowing The Seeds Of Love and many other incredible hits from that glorious decade). A choreographic ode to the sound and vibe of the 80s, as embodied in the music of Tears For Fears, with its utopic drive and epic groove. LOVETRAIN2020 builds on the eccentric rigor that defines Emanuel Gat Dance. The company, founded in Tel Aviv and now based in Marseille, premiered LOVETRAIN2020 at Montpellier Danse festival. With adventurous costumes by Thomas Bradley and lighting by Gat himself, this performance for the dancers of the company - a story of people moving forward as they come together, drift apart, push, pull, and question - swings vigorously between stark silence and sing-alongs.

Brilliant Corners - T01809208835UK Premiere. Brilliant Corners is the newest work from Israeli choreographer and performer Emanuel Gat. Created for ten dancers it is set to an original score composed by Gat himself. An explosion of simultaneous ideas, this new work is a choreographic playground of multiple perspectives, exposing both the fragility and burning relevance of the moment. Brilliant Corners is the title of Jazz musician Thelonius Monk’s 1957 LP. Using the name of the album to prompt a line of thinking, Brilliant Corners is made of carefully assembled details, complex in its structure yet simple in its ability to convey the immediacy and intimacy of the human presence.Producer Montpellier Danse. Winter Variations - T01973764677Winter Variations is the latest work from Israeli choreographer Emanuel Gat. This stunning new piece represents the continuation of themes explored in previous work Winter Voyage, which Gat presented at Sadler's Wells in 2008. Set to a soundtrack ranging from Gustav Mahler to Riyad Al-Sunbati, Winter Variations is an intimate duet performed on a vast stage. Gat uses the scale to intensify the actions, relations and intentions of the choreography, allowing the space to become almost a third character in itself. Co-created and performed with regular collaborator Roy Assaf, with whom Gat shares a rare physical telepathy, moments of dance from Winter Voyage are developed into full chapters of complex choreography and elaborated sequences of human drama. Silent Ballet/Winter Voyage/Through the Centre - T0250422771These performances by Emanuel Gat Dance are the first in a series of Sadler’s Wells Debuts - an initiative designed to introduce dance by new choreographers to the UK at a special low price. Co-produced by Sadler’s Wells, Silent Ballet is a brand new work to be performed by the full company, which mixes live and pre-recorded sounds with moments of complete silence. A hit at Sadler’s Wells Sampled in 2007, Winter Voyage is a stunning duet set to Schubert's Winterreise. Shaven haired and dressed in long flowing gowns, dancers [Emanuel Gat] and [Roy Assaf] perform with astonishing synchronicity, creating rhythmic, flowing movements that are at once masculine and elegant. Created in 2007, Through the Centre is performed by eight dancers from [Emanuel Gat Dance], and set to the frantic electronic acid beats of Squarepusher.
