Eva La Yerbabuena has long been hailed as a leading exponent of the new flamenco scene. Balancing the artforms need for evolution with a reverence for the tradition from which it came, her show Eva weaves her graceful and passionate approach to dance with stunning music and songs. She has worked with the likes of Pina Bausch, La Fura dels Baus and Oscar-adorned director Mike Figgis. Though Eva has previously played in this country, this is her UK debut featuring her full band and dance company. The five dancers, three singers, two guitarists, percussionist and flautist join her in the performance of this piece that was first commissioned by the Xth Biennale of Flamenco in Seville, and includes bulerias, seguirilla, tangos and her own invention, the granaina. Expect innovation, colour and an abundance of passion.
