Sem Mim/Parabeto - T0864458706The Company will perform two pieces choreographed by artistic director Rodrigo Pederneiras. Parabelo was described by Pederneiras as his most Brazilian creation and is inspired by life in rural Brazil. As the dancers sweep across the stage, moving rhythmically from group to solo and back again, there are moments of utter peace and stillness and others of raucous Brazilian carnival. Sem Mim is a darker piece which takes its inspiration from a Portuguese song cycle and focuses on a group of women who lament the loss of their lovers. Dressed in intricately patterned and colourful bodysuits, the dancers move as waves; the ebb and flow of their bodies mimickingPresented byDance Consortium.

Triz and Parabelo - T01839808119The company performs two pieces, choreographed by artistic director Rodrigo Pederneiras. The first piece is entitled Triz - the Brazilian term for the moment just before a catastrophe. The abstract dance is performed in striking black and white costume, and sees performers' bodies vertically split like inanimate objects. Performed for the first time in the UK, Triz is a visually stunning dance experience. The second part of the programme, Parabelo, was described by Pederneiras as his most Brazilian creation and is inspired by life in rural Brazil. It sees the dancers sweep across the stage moving rhythmically from group to solo and back again. There are moments of utter peace and stillness and others of raucous Brazilian carnival.

Ima and Onqoto - T01950019314Onqoto tackles the origins of the universe through the surprising setting of a football match between two rival football teams in Rio de Janeiro. The score of latin-inflected funk by Caetano Veloso and Jose Miguel Wisnik provides the perfect accompaniment to the 21 dancers' jaw-droppingly fast footwork, and the lighting design by Paulo Pederneiras cleverly references the atmosphere of a football stadium. Ima is inspired by the scientific law of magnetism whereby particles either repel or attract one another. Set to an experimental soundtrack by Brazilian trio +2, the dancers engage in a constant game of union and dispersion as duos, trios and larger groups, while Freusa Zechmeister's costumes and Paulo Pederneiras lighting work in harmony to create an explosion of colour on stage.

Parabelo/Onqoto - T1869670524Parabelo - Carnival comes to the Festival in a performance of seductive physicality. The Grupo Corpo dancers stamp their feet and sway their hips with snake-like fluidity in this ravishing creation straight off the white sandy beaches of Rio. Onqoto - A soundtrack of driving Latin funk provides the musical backdrop for an eccentric debate over the paternity of the universe. It's a curious competition between the idea of a great primordial explosion and a witty notion that the cosmos was conceived as a weird form of rivalry between Rio's two main football teams.Corporate Sponsor Baillie Gifford and Co.
