This prestigious event will see the world premiere of CHAINS, a dance performance which draws its inspiration from issues surrounding the subject of Citizenship . Featuring 40 young dancers from across the UK, this unique production has been choreographed by Chris Baldock, from an original idea by Greg Snape, and promises to be both entertaining and thought provoking. The Gala will also feature students from some of the UK's leading vocational dance colleges presenting a variety of original dance performances, as well as a musical theatre excerpt from the UNICEF children's rights musical, Thursday's Child . The Guest of Honour is Vanessa Redgrave, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Her support and presence at UNICEF's Thursday's Child project in 2000 and now the CHAINS project in 2002 is a tribute to her personal devotion to both dance and to young people's education and development for the future.
