Jaivant Patel trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, where he gained a BPA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance. He has studied Graham, Cunningham, Release and Classical Ballet dance techniques. He has worked with dance practitioners such as Shirley Jacobs, Sharon Donaldson, Laurent Cavanna, Sue Hawksley, Leesa Phillips, Kevin Finnan, Luis Lara Malvacias and Jeremy Nelson. He has choreographed for many various projects in the West Midlands and is also a dance project worker for ABCD, Wolverhampton City Council. The piece has been named ‘Saruat...’ which means beginning in Gujarati. Jaivant hopes this is the start of many things to come for him as a successful dance practitioner.
