Mayfly - T654547468Their latest work Mayfly has been supported by Without Walls and commissioned by Stockton International Riverside Festival and Timber Festival. Mayfly is Kapow's most ambitious piece to date. A custom-engineered set incorporates 5 fountains, programmed to shoot water into the air in sync with the two dancers' choreography. Inspired by the brief life of the mayfly and its famous last dance, the piece is a metaphor for the fleeting, ephemeral nature of life and how our survival is inextricably linked to our environment. Mayfly is performed to an original soundtrack by Andy Pink featuring a digital choir of 150 women and girls. | |
