Historical Project
Year 2 students on the BA (Hons) Dance Theatre programme perform four dance works by choreographers who have made an important contribution to the international development of contemporary dance in the 20th and 21st centuries. Before each piece is presented the audience is given an insight into the restaging process and is informed about the historical, social and cultural context in which it was originally created. The recreation of these historically significant dance works has engaged the students both physically and intellectually in a period of intense creative activity and the resulting performances are as informative as they are entertainining.
