Atlas (or before arriving in barataria)
London Premiere. Mal Pelo is respected internationally for its refreshing, surreal choreographic approach resulting in intensely physical dance. Taking as references books and films inspired by Cervantes’ masterpiece Don Quixote, Pep Ramis and María Muñoz use the central idea of a shared journey to nowhere as a setting for a powerful enquiry into the relationship between two men. Played by Ramis and Jordi Casanovas, one is haughty, self-assured and elegant; the other bare-foot, casual and compliant. Echoing the relationship of Quixote and his side-kick Sancho Panza, Atlas is a universe for two where projected images, movement and words interact in a poignant study of contrasting but interdependent personalities.
