Tar and Feathers/Wings of Wax/Drawn Onward
Tar and Feathers sees a pianist improvise around Mozart's music at a grand piano perching spectacularly on metre-high legs, as six dancers perform around him.
Wings of Wax, performed to the music of Bach and Philip Glass boasts lavish imagery with a complete tree hanging upside down above the action, as eight dancers emerge from the blackness.
Drawn Onward by Lightfoot-Leon sees the dancers faced with a massive door that periodically opens then clangs shut. Curiosity, apprehension, uncertainty and resolve flood through this piece with a compelling and gripping intensity.
