PRANAMAM is an innovative programme, paying tribute to MOHAMMED RAFI, the great singer on Indian Silver Screen. It is a visual symphony, a multi level, multi star, multi stage show, which could be the first of its kind. Pranamam is based on Mohammed Rafi's 50 year old hit 'duniya ke raghuvalle'. The 'raga' of the song is 'durbari kannada' in Hindustani music and its cooresponding Carnatic 'raga' is also 'kannada'. The song is elaborated in carnatic and hindustani styles and film music, that too in male and female voices. Meanwhile, the meaning of the song is interpreted through dances, music, video projection and multimedia pojection techniques. Pranamam is conceived and directed by Soorya Krishnamoorthy, renowned for this Light and Sound Show/Theatre of Freedaom Stage programmes in India and internationally for his artistic- cultural innovation and propagation through Soorya chapters worldwide.
