German choreographer Frauke Requard’s new work Episode draws upon an intense and intimate encounter between three dancers, unleashing a colourful sequence of events that captures anarchically riotous relationships and exquisitely private revelations. Requardt brings together an exceptional team of dancers and collaborators. Hannah Clark’s intriguingly fantastical set is matched by lighting from Chahine Yavroyan, and with an immersive, eerie soundtrack by the Ringham brothers, featuring live piano by Niko Meinhold, Episode is an unusual and darkly atmospheric experience that revels in the highs and lows of humanity.
