Faultline reflects the tensions and contradictions of Asian youth in the UK. International dancers resonate with the survival instinct of the young in today’s fastpaced, urban Britain. Film footage by Pete Gomes epitomises the anxiety and energy of the street; whilst haunting, atmospheric music features an electro-score by Scanner, overlaid with vocals by Errolyn Wallen and sung live by soprano, Patricia Rosario. In
Exit No Exit, Michael Nyman’s music propels six dancers effortlessly on and off the stage. In the centre, a soloist remains trapped. The anticipation of entrances and the impossibility of exits are coloured by the shifting patterns creeping across the stage. Internationally recognised, Shobana Jeyasingh has captivated and engaged audiences for almost twenty years with her dynamic, fearless and enigmatic choreography.
