Details

Taciturn is a professional dance company of four female dancers. The company is based in Liverpool and was established in 2006, creating and performing vibrant and diverse works with a wide appeal. In their latest work, Grapple, commissioned by Culture Liverpool as part of the 10 for 2010 programme and Arts Council England, the four dancers work as one to take the audience on a mesmerising journey. Choreographed by Lisi Perry, the performance combines subtle lighting shifts, moments of incredible physicality and precisely timed choreography to create a haunting, enthralling experience. In, If It Can Be Broken, It Can Be Fixed, renowned chorographer Tom Roden has created a series of five individual pop song length pieces. Dancing to stripped back Bloc Party and the Beta Band, this touching, quirky, humorous performance shows the strong chemistry and popular appeal of the company. Choreographed by the company themselves, Hang Up Your Coat And Stay A While is a playful exploration of the dancers’ personalities and relationships. This light hearted and playful performance sees the dancers become tangled and unravelled in the blink of an eye, expressing a great sense of unity and camaraderie that is infectious.
