Details

The Bellboys (Les Grooms) was originally formed as part of the company Theatre de I'Unite, one of the first groups to explore street theatre in France. Now an independent company in its own right, The Bellboys (Les Grooms) mixes theatre and music, to create inventive and enchanting performances. The Bellboys (Les Grooms) brings La Baronnade to the Barbican as part of the Do Something Different Weekend, following the popularity of its street ballet, Les Ballets Grooms, in the Barbican foyers during bite07. The company is well known for taking theatre out of the auditorium and into open, public spaces and this time the journey takes place in and around the public spaces of the Barbican. The audience follows the brass band, opera singers and ballet dancers in this delightful community procession for all the family. This is The Bellboys fourth visit to bite. La Baronnade is part of the East festival 2009 and Paris Calling, a Franco-British season of performing arts. This event is free.
