Digitopia follows the adventures of Dotty and her friend Hex, a simple two dimensional line. Hex can make angles and the most he can make is six. His favourite shape is a hexagon. He's happy with this, but one day he really wants to make a curve. With a lot of effort he learns to bend, then multiply, and suddenly he can create all kinds of shapes, eventually popping into three dimensions, discovering he can turn into anything he wants to. Dotty follows Hex into his newly created digital world, setting off on a rollercoaster ride of surprises. Commissioned by MOKO Dance in association with Warwick Arts Centre Digitopia is a new dance production by Tom Dale Company for children and their families to tour the UK. Continuing our Triggered at Warwick project, this is an interactive dance piece for children exploring the concept of a digital funhouse able to warp and shift the perceptions of reality. Moving floors, optical illusions, the Hall of Mirrors and spectacles such as Pepper's Ghost are created using interactive technology and digital projection. Join us for a ride where the usual rules of gravity and form do not apply and anything may happen. This is a Work in Progress - your input is invaluable.
