In James Buckhouse's world, tap dancers hoof their way across the bridges dividing the physical, virtual and interpersonal worlds' USA Today Originally part of the Whitney Biennial, this Palm Pilot based wireless project, offers animated characters and chance to take tap dancing lessons. The artwork becomes a metaphor for networked communications itself. Tap is a work by James Buckhouse in collaboration with Holly Brubach, dancer Christopher Wheeldon and programmer Scott Snibbe. Tap 2002 was commissioned by Dia Center for the Arts.
