W:icked W:orld W:ithin traces the development of human blood cells from Embryo to the formulation of our complex immune system. Through dance and the use of multimedia and sound installation IJAD have created an interactive choreographic piece where the audience is free to roam around and among the dancers and impact on the performance. In this piece, dance, interactive technology, microscopy and digital projection work together to enact our internal human bodily activity and the journey of our bodily cells from the skin level going inwards. W:icked W:orld W:ithin investigates the internal cellular workings in our bodies and what directs our movements: and asks probing questions like... does movement actually start in our brain cells? The performers represent the cells. Specially designed costumes and light projections flood the stage with washes of cells and micronisms as the audience inform the direction of the dancers via interactive touch pads.
