Wild Card is a Sadler's Wells initiative that gives artists the opportunity to present the work of their choice. It aims to bring fresh ideas to the stage by giving young creators a platform to share the work they admire. Neil Callaghan makes work between dance and theatre. Since 2002 he has been creating performances both as a solo artist and in collaborations, including the Sadler's Wells commission Electric Hotel by David Rosenberg and Frauke Requardt. His programme Transforming Matter features two international artists at the cutting edge of dance - Mette Ingvartsen and Jeremy Wade - who rarely show work in the UK. He also performs an extract of his latest duet with long-time collaborator Simone Kenyon. These three pieces explore how we engage with the world and each other. In a theatre stripped of seating, Transforming Matter is an intimate triple bill which aims to draw attention to the different ways in which an audience member is an active participant in co-creating a dance. This is an invitation to take part in an evening of shared experiences and multiple transformations. Running time: 2hrs 45mins (including one 20min interval).
