Maximum Machine - The Maximum Machine was an 18th century device designed by Desaguliers, to measrue the maximum amount of physical work a man could do in one day. Set in a Europe obsessed with invention and design, at a time when scientific experiments provided live (and frequently dangerous) entertainment for high society, Maximum Machine embraces the pioneering spirit, human force and fallibility, and a bizarre, fast-chaning world.
