Martin Creed makes things. They take many different forms; including objects, statements, songs, performances that exist without any hierarchy within his practice. The materials he works with are 'everyday and what he does with them is deceptively simple; Work #88: a sheet of A4 paper crumpled into a ball, Work#127: a door opening and closing and a light going on an off. The works act as a trigger, drawing our attention to the sophisticated and intricate thought processes involved in daily negotiation of space, how we encounter and use objects, and how we decide what to do and what not to do.
